INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE SERVICES

At the Golden Age Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on a daily basis, the Information and Assistance Volunteer and/or staff  member is available to provide information about resources, programs, and services for seniors.  Arrangements and appointments to link our clientele with appropriate community services are readily provided; staff and/or volunteers coordinate blood pressure clinics, flu shots, and eye and hearing tests; staff or volunteers initiate and encourage seniors to participate in social activities; and they establish and make available emergency programs to seniors.  Either a volunteer or the Manager travels as needed to the Roderick Senior Center in Hayfork (an hour each way) to provide similar services to their center. 

The Golden Age Center is more than a place where seniors can come to have a healthy meal with their friends.  The Center offers a broad spectrum of leisure activities and programs that provide seniors emotional companionship and intellectual in a beautiful setting.  The Center provides a place where seniors and the community can come together in a friendly environment and play, learn, or just chat.

Computer Classes  ~   Health Seminars ~ Bingo ~ Internet Access ~  Fund Raising Dinners ~ Musical Entertainment ~ Canasta Club~ Pool Table ~ Oil Painting Session ~ Video and Card Playing Room ~ Line Dancing ~ On-Going Silent Auction Sales ~ Shopping at our two Thrift Stores
